Rave clothing is harder to buy online than most categories. The cuts are unusual, the sizing moves between brands, and the piece normally has to arrive by a fixed date. These are the seven checks worth running on any rave store before you order, and where Rave Wonderland stands on each.

1. Can you see it in person first?

Bodysuits, harnesses and platform boots are the three hardest things in this category to buy from a photograph, and the three most likely to come back. Almost every rave retailer is online only, so the fit is a guess until the parcel arrives.

We run a 9,000 square foot showroom at 414 W Pico Blvd in Downtown Los Angeles, open seven days a week, carrying the full range rather than a sample of it. If you are in Southern California you can try on bodysuits, sets and boots before you decide. Details and hours are on our store page.

2. Does the size range actually cover everyone?

A lot of rave clothing stops at L or XL, and a lot of what is labeled extended sizing is a separate, smaller collection rather than the main range.

We carry XS to 3XL across the catalog. It is the same range in every size, not a reduced version of it, and that applies to women's and men's alike.

3. How specific is the sizing information?

A store carrying several brands and showing one chart for everything is making an assumption on your behalf. Boots in particular do not share a fit between makers, and a dress size is not a bodysuit size.

We publish charts by brand and by garment type rather than one for the whole catalog. Forplay, Anthony Wang, Badinka, Berness and YRU each have their own, and men's t-shirts, hoodies, joggers and shorts are charted separately. They are collected on our sizing page, with the measurements set out as tables rather than as pictures of tables.

4. Can one store cover the whole look?

A festival outfit is rarely one item. Splitting it across three sites means three delivery dates, three return policies and three chances for something to arrive late.

We carry the outfit, the footwear and the finishing pieces in one place: festival outfits, shoes and boots, and accessories from body jewels to hydration packs. One order, one delivery, one policy.

5. Is there a collection for the event you are actually going to?

Shopping by category means working out for yourself what suits a desert daytime set versus a warehouse night. Shopping by event does that work for you.

We build collections around specific festivals, including EDC Las Vegas, EDC Orlando, Nocturnal Wonderland, Bass Canyon, Burning Man and Halloween. If you know the event, you can skip the guesswork.

6. Will it arrive before the event?

The delivery estimate on most stores starts when the parcel leaves, not when you place the order. Preparation time is where outfits go missing.

Ours is one to two business days to prepare, then Economy at 5 to 8 business days, Priority at 2 to 4, or Express at 1 to 3. Count backwards from the event date. If the event is this week and you are in Los Angeles, the showroom is faster than any courier.

7. What happens if something goes wrong?

Orders go missing, sizes miss, and events move. What matters is whether anyone picks up.

We have been in business since 2013 and we are female owned. Our Google rating is 4.8 from more than 1,100 reviews. You can call (213) 623-1147 during store hours and speak to a person, or walk into the Los Angeles showroom and sort it out face to face. Our returns policy, shipping terms and FAQs are all written out in full.

8. What happens if they send the wrong thing?

Most returns policies in this category are written for the case where you changed your mind. The one worth reading is what happens when the fault is the store's: a defective item, a damaged one, or the wrong item in the parcel. A lot of stores push that back through the same store-credit route as everything else.

Where we stand: if the error is ours you get a full refund including the shipping you paid, rather than credit. For a change of mind it is store credit within 30 days, like the rest of the category.

Where to start

If you know the event, the EDC Las Vegas, Nocturnal Wonderland and Halloween collections are built for it. If you are still deciding, best sellers shows what is moving, and festival outfits covers complete looks. Everything is in the full catalog.

If you are in Los Angeles, the showroom is the shortest route to a decision. Everything in this guide applies there too, and you leave with the outfit the same day.

At our Downtown Los Angeles showroom. It carries the full range across XS to 3XL, and staff will help you put a complete look together.

Two weeks is comfortable on Economy once preparation time is included. Inside two weeks, choose Priority or Express.

What size range should a rave store carry?

Enough to cover the whole scene rather than part of it. We carry XS to 3XL across the full catalog.
